Wingerworth Wobble 2026 race report now available!

The Wingerworth Wobble returned for 2026 on Saturday 28 February, and what a fantastic day it was! After months of wet weather making the usualmuddy trails even muddier, we were treated to a bright and mild morning.

136 runners took to the course, and as always, the ford proved a highlight of the course, with plenty of runners choosing to splash straight through, much to the delight of the photographer on the other side!

After a fantastic event last Saturday, here's a run-down of the morning, including our fastest runners, link to the full results and pictures.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, marshalled, supported, and helped make the day such a success, including @firstlightadventure23 who are the brains behind the event. From the start to the (very slippy!) finish, it was brilliant to see so many runners enjoying the course.

Good morning and happy Wobble Day 🥳

Our official course safety inspector, Molly, inspected the route yesterday. She concluded that it’s muddy in the usual spots, so trail shoes are essential!

🚧 Roadworks are still causing delays in Tupton and Chesterfield, so please leave plenty of time to reach us.

🅿️ Please park responsibly, especially if using neighbouring roads. Don’t block driveways or access points.

💰 Don’t forget to bring some money for the raffle and any additional refreshments (runners receive a voucher for one free drink and cake). All profits go to Ashgate Hospice and Deer Park School.

Race day is nearly here! If you’re taking part in the Wingerworth Wobble, please check your inbox and watch the 2-minute race briefing video before Saturday – it includes important updates about current course conditions.

Here’s what you need to know:

👟 Trail shoes are a must
🧥 Dress for cold conditions & bring a waterproof jacket
🗺️ GPX route link is in your email
🕘 Registration opens 9am at Deer Park School (closes 10:15am – don’t be late!)
🚗 Expect A61 Tupton roadworks delays & park considerately
🍺 Special runner offer at The Barley Mow (voucher given at registration)
🎟️ Raffle & awards at the school – supporting Ashgate Hospice & the school

With just ONE WEEK until this year's Wingerworth Wobble, our newest safety inspector, Molly, has been checking the conditions on the route...

As expected for this time of year, you can expect a fair bit of mud and some slippery surfaces, so please wear appropriate shoes. The route is well signposted/marshalled but please also familiarise yourself with the route on our website: www.wingerworthwobblers.org.uk
